WOMAN, LIFE, FREEDOM

This was my tribute for the final exhibition at Forbergs skola.

The theme for our exhibition was "Prohibited".

On September 13, 2022, the Kurdish woman named Mahsa Amini was arrested by the so called "moral police" in Iran because she had violated Iran's veil requirement. A few days later she died. This event was the starting point for intense protests, where thousands of people in Iran took to the streets to show their dissatisfaction with the state's oppression of women. The demonstrations continue even today, despite being met with deadly violence on a daily basis.

Through my art, I have chosen to pay tribute to the brave and strong women of Iran for their fight to one day live in a free country where they can dress and express themselves however they want. This is a fight for women's rights that we must fight together by showing our support and that we stand behind the people of Iran. Together we will make a difference.
